Renshia Manuel, founder of GrowBox, shares with you her thoughts about the current situation the world is going through and explains you how she managed to adapt her business in the current time.
GrowBox is a social entreprise created in 2016 by Renshia Manuel. She developed portable wooden boxes containing a variety of vegetable seedlings to change people’s perceptions of growing food in confined spaces. This entreprise contributes to secure food supply for families in CapeTown’s townships.
The «GrowBox Art Project» was the first acceleration project undertaken by AAD-Incubator in order to develop and sustain the social entreprise of Renshia Manuel. The uniqueness of the «GrowBox Art Project» resided in this innovative blending of a social business project with an artistic endeavour. AAD invited ten internationally recognized and engaged African artists to create a work of art from a GrowBox. These Arty GrowBoxes expressed a vision of the future of Africa. They have been exhibited at the Zeitz Mocca museum in February 2019.
