It is with great joy that African Artist for Development learnt that Séraphin Kajibwami had ben rewarded for his works on « Les Diamants de Kamituga » on Saturday January 23 2016.
Séraphin Kajibwami received the award for the best cartoonist from IRD, the “Initiative Régionale pour le Développement” (Regional Initiative for Development) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The cartoonist has been rewarded for his work on the two volumes of « Les Diamants de Kamituga ». He dedicated his prize to African Artist for Development and SOS Sida, which is AAD’s local partner. Gratien Chibungiri, SOS Sida’s administrator, was present for the occasion.
As a reminder, « Les Diamants de Kamituga », one of African Artists for Development initiative, is comic book combining HIV/Aids prevention message and captivating thriller. The volumes 1 and 2 were distributed in Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2012 and 2014 as a HIV/Aids prevention tool. 250,000 copies of “Les Diamants de Kamituga”, which represents a major event in the field of HIV- prevention in the DRC, were printed and distributed.
