Lumières d’Afriques – EUMETSAT

The “Lumières d’Afriques” exhibition is hosted in the EUMETSAT’s headquarters in Germany since the 22nd March and will stay until the to 6th May 2018.
The exhibition has been founded by AAD in 2015, as a prelude to United Nations conference on climate change (COP21). AAD asked to 54 african artists, one for each african state, an artwork inspired by a single theme “The Enlightened Africa”.
The exhibition has been presented at the “Théâtre National of Chaillot” to Paris in 2015 and to the “Gare du Nord” the same year. This exhibition continued its journey around the world, stopping to Abidjan, Dakar, Geneva and Addis Ababa.
By stopping 2 months in Darmstadt in Germany, in the EUMETSAT’s headquarters, “Lumières d’Afriques” reminds us once again the importance of the energy access for the development of the continent as well as the real impact of the climate change in Africa, while presenting solutions.
Scholar visits will be organized to make sure that the message will be spread to the new generations, and in order to present the great diversity and richness of the african contemporary art.
Some artists will be present the inauguration day : Franck Ludangi ( Angola ), Jamila Lamrani (Morocco), Berry Bickle (Zimbabwe), Naziha Arebi (Libya), Mouna Jemal Siala (Tunisia), Nyaba Ouedraogo (Burkina Faso), Teddy Mazina (Burundi), Nathalie Mba Bikoro (Gabon), Samson Kambalu (Malawi), Malala Andrialavidrazana (Madagascar), Rehema Chachage (Tanzania).
