Last April, two CNN journalists ventured into the Moula and Yaroungou refugee camps to carry out a report on Refugees On The Move’s second session of dance workshops in Chad. Focusing on the life and career of the choreographer Taïgué Ahmed, his approach to dance and the change observed in the day-to-day lives of the refugees, these three videos, directed by Diane McCarthy, act as living testimonies to the impact the dance workshops had on all those involved.

One week after the CNN report, the French daily Libération also covered “Refugees On The Move”, dedicating its ‘Grand Angle’ section to the AAD project. Based on an interview with Taïgué Ahmed and accompanied by pictures taken on site by photographer Philippe Guionie, the article, “Réfugiés dans la danse” by Marie-Christine Vernay, retraces Taïgué’s extraordinary path to choreography and shares the incredible conviction fueling both his artistic pursuits and humanitarian projects.
