Just one year ago, the Artistic Committee of the African Space Art Project met in Paris to select the three winning artists! Jean-Philippe Aka, Melissa Goba, Gaël Faye and Keziah Jones met to study the files of about a hundred artists invited to participate in the project!
ASAP, the first African artistic exploration of space!
In 2022, an Ariane 5 launcher will put a new EUMETSAT third-generation geostationary satellite into orbit over Africa to monitor climate and weather changes on the African continent. ASAP has set itself the goal of adorning the Ariane 5 fairing with a reproduction of a contemporary African work of art, a historical symbol of the power of contemporary African creation at the service of the continent’s future.
Stay tuned to follow ASAP’s imminent progress!
